Florida InfoGuide is the longest-running visitor guide in Tampa Bay, reaching 50,000 visitors each quarter through 400 distribution locations, including 265 area hotels. We're seeking an enthusiastic, connected, and self-motivated Advertising Sales Representative to help local businesses tap into this powerful B2V (Business-to-Visitor) marketing channel.
You’ll sell advertising opportunities in our quarterly print guide, online edition, social media promotions, and exclusive event partnerships. In return, you’ll earn generous ongoing commissions for every client you bring on board.
Earn 20% of the advertising spend for every new client you sign. Earn even more for "high-value" targets that will be commissioned up to 30% (including the residual).
Keep earning 20%-30% for every future ad that client runs — as long as you remain actively selling. Several of our advertisers have been with us since day one - twenty-five years ago. Imagine a growing base of residual income and a best-in-class offering that is proven to consistently generate new business.
To keep residuals flowing, you’ll need to close at least one new client per quarter (one new sale per issue). It's a low bar that demonstrates that you're still in the game and putting forth the effort needed to be successful. Of course, if we have a highly disruptive event (like the 2024 hurricane season), we will waive the requirement. We're reasonable people and we want everyone to be happy and motivated!
Use your local connections to build your own book of business in Pinellas County, St. Pete, and Suncoast beach communities.
No office. No clock-punching. Work on your time — and we’ll support you with materials, leads (when available), and training.
We’re not just a magazine. We’re part of the Tampa Bay experience. Clients who advertise with us get visibility at hotels, resorts, festivals, and more — plus a mascot-led social media push with Amos the MVGreyhound.
People who already work with or sell to local businesses, such as hospitality, tourism, retail, food & beverage.
Retired professionals looking for flexible, commission-based income.
Local connectors who enjoy helping small businesses grow.
Former media, radio, or print sales pros looking for a simpler structure.
Basic understanding of advertising, media sales, or small business marketing and tourism-based business.
Ability to manage your own pipeline and follow up. There's no micro-managing to be found here.
Confidence reaching out to businesses by phone, email, or in person.
A love for Tampa Bay and the businesses that make it unique.
A smartphone or laptop for communications and CRM access. iPads are great for onsite demonstrations and signing contracts on the spot.

Yes. There’s no base salary or hourly pay — but you earn 20% commission on every dollar you sell. Targets identified by ownership as particularly high-value will be commissioned at up to 30%. That includes repeat revenue from clients who continue to advertise. You get paid as soon as we get paid.
Yes — as long as you remain active by making at least one new sale each quarter, you’ll keep earning commission on any active clients you originally sold.
If you don’t bring in a new sale during a quarter (each new issue), your ongoing commissions stop. You’ll still earn for new clients you bring in going forward. If something out of all of our control happens to disrupt the market (e.g., 2024 hurricane season), we'll waive the requirement as appropriate.
You can build your book however you like — in person, via email, or over the phone. But many reps find success visiting businesses in person, especially in hospitality or retail. Getting to the right person is the key.
The average client revenue for the most recent quarter was $958 . Although it's not publicized (or guaranteed), as long as long-term advertisers pay promptly, we do not increase their rate and will offer an equivalent discount from standard rates if they choose to increase the size of their ad.
Any company or organization that derives business from what we call the B2V (Business-to-Visitor) market (other than hotels and lodging). Following are our major CRM categories and example organizations.
There are two reasons we do not accept advertising for hotels, resorts, or other accommodations:
Yes. Most of our current partners have been advertising with us for years. The 2024 hurricanes threw a wrench in that norm, but we typically retain our clients.
We’ll provide guidance, marketing materials, a robust CRM, and occasional leads as they surface — but most of your success will come from your own outreach and local knowledge.
We use a platform called Less Annoying CRM with over 500 contacts at over 600 target companies. Take a product tour at: https://www.lessannoyingcrm.com/tour
We have a strong CRM with over 500 contacts at over 600 target companies. Brochures, marketing campaign materials, business cards, and events are company-paid. We have robust web, photography, design, and social media capabilities.
No. We currently only plan to have a single sales rep to maximize the opportunity for that person. We could, however, add another rep in the future, if we feel like we're not properly covering the market. Also, the owners may sell business directly if they have a relationship and the opportunity presents itself. Each person on the team identifies their targets in the CRM system and add any new leads that aren't currently there.
You’ll be an independent contractor, free to work your own hours and structure your work around other responsibilities.
